First of all, I’m sorry for not posting in a while. My primary job has kept me really busy. A lot has transpired since my last posting. The Broncos have solved their quarterback problems by drafting Bo Nix and some other pieces to the offensive puzzle and will as some depth on defense. I think with these improvements the Broncos will be more competitive this year. But I have read and heard that the Broncos have the worst roster in the NFL this year. And these guys are supposed to be experts, I have a few choice words for them: Let’s just cancel the season let the players collect checks that they haven’t earned and not play a down of football during the season. Sports are not played on paper or in the press. They are played on the field, so I have an idea. Let’s let the players play the game and see how the season plays out. These men are world class athletes and should be given the chance to prove that not having some armchair quarterbacks judge their talent before the game is even played. Most of these experts are able to turn a phrase, but most of these guys never got past Little League baseball or Pee Wee football and don’t realize the time, dedication, and sacrifice that it takes to become a world class athlete and the time it takes for all these athletes to jell into a team.
My other observation is the play of Catlin Clark of the Indiana Fever. The talented rookie is having a fantastic season. She is not flashy or arrogant. The woman loves to play the game and she is exceptionally good at it, and she attracts the fans. She is the assist leader in the league this year and she is the first rookie in league history to achieve a triple double. She is good for the game. This is evident by the new 200-million-dollar media deal that will help with giving more money to the players. The attendance is up and Ms. Clark has writer’s cramp from all the autographs she signs. And what sport has a runway fashion show before the game and then a very entertaining, competitive game where the women work as a team and play defense.
I watched the All-Star game and was impressed with the talent highlighted, and I think it will be a wild ride down the stretch towards the pennant races in September and October.
And lastly, I’m really looking forward to the Olympics in Paris coming soon. All the swimming, gymnastics, track and field, volleyball both indoor and beach volleyball.
This summer is chalk full of sports and I’m loving every minute of it.
